Steven Matossian was born and raised in Pasadena, California. After high school, Mr. Matossian enlisted in the Marine Corps, where he served for six years, including one tour to Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom. While still in the Marines, Mr. Matossian obtained his California real estate license and began a side career in the lucrative real estate market. Mr. Matossian represented both buyers and sellers in the Los Angeles area, helping his clients traverse the cumbersome paperwork and negotiation process.
After being honorably discharged from the Marines as a sergeant, Mr. Matossian joined the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy sheriff, where he has served for the last 13 years. There, Mr. Matossian has had the opportunity to work in a variety of assignments, including patrol, court services, special problems unit, and youth programs (Vital Intervention and Directional Alternatives, LASD Explorers).
While still working as a deputy, Mr. Matossian enrolled in and graduated from Southwestern Law School. During law school, Mr. Matossian clerked for the Honorable Judge Harvey A. Silberman of the Los Angeles County Superior Court. There, Mr. Matossian learned the ins and outs of California family law and cemented his desire to focus exclusively on that area of law.
Mr. Matossian is married and has two young children. His personal and professional background help his understanding of how to approach different aspects of a family law case.
Since beginning the practice of law, Mr. Matossian’s history of service has not stopped. He volunteers with pro-bono legal services, including the Harriet Buhai Center for Family Law.
