With over ten years’ experience as a civil litigator, Sherri Matta excels at developing efficient and creative approaches to complicated legal disputes. As the former partner at a small Los Angeles firm, she applies her in-depth knowledge of civil procedure and court rules to her legal practice. Ms. Matta handled a wide range of civil disputes, including business, real estate, malpractice, employment, and landlord-tenant matters. Ms. Matta appeared in trial and appellate courts across Los Angeles and Orange County.
Born and raised in the Greater Toronto Area, Ms. Matta graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Social Science from the University of Ottawa. She obtained her law degree from Western Law in London, Ontario. While at law school, she volunteered with the Community Legal Services clinic, completed a semester abroad at the National University of Singapore, and summered at Bet Tzedek in Los Angeles, where she prepared reparation claims for Holocaust survivors. Before moving to Los Angeles, Ms. Matta was licensed to practice law in Ontario and worked at a leading Canadian litigation firm on high-stakes, high-profile, and international litigation matters. Ms. Matta has also volunteered at Public Counsel in Los Angeles, providing legal services to low-income clients.
Ms. Matta is admitted to practice before all California state courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
