Leslie Freed Petersil is a native of Los Angeles. Ms. Petersil earned her undergraduate degree in History from UCLA, graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. While at UCLA, Ms. Petersil served as the Director of the Peer Health Counselor program and worked at the United States Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C. on health policy issues. Ms. Petersil earned her J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. During her time at Loyola Law School, Ms. Petersil volunteered at the Southern Poverty Law Center, worked part-time for a boutique law firm, and was a summer associate at Paul Hastings LLP. Ms. Petersil has been practicing Family Law since 1994. Since 2007, Ms. Petersil has worked as an adjunct professor at Pepperdine University’s School of Law. Ms. Petersil is also currently a volunteer attorney for the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Domestic Violence Project.
